Namitha acted in well over 30 South Indian movies with lots of fan following.  She started her career as a model. She participated in Femina Miss India contest and Miss Surat contest. She ended in fourth place in Miss India contest . She made her debut in Telugu film ‘Sontham’. However, her major breakthrough came with the kollywood film ‘Engal Anna’ starring opposite Vijayakanth. Namitha also did a hollywood film ‘Maya’ directed by Eric Manning.
